Jamie Drake has been an active part of the music scene in the Barrie & Orillia area since the mid 2000's, participating and hosting various jam nights and open mics. He can be seen and heard playing at various restaurants, bars and other event venues such as Malones Pinthouse, the Queens Hotel (Barrie), Fionn Macools (Orillia) , and many private events.

When looking for more than background music, Jamie partners up with one or more band members to create the duo, trio or full band experience you are looking for! Drummer Regan Muller, bassist Mauri Liimatainen, and lead guitarist Jakob Pearce join Jamie for a 4-piece that rocks it out with a great selection of tunes from various decades including oldies rockabilly, classic 70's & 80's rock, to more contemporary folk-rock and pop. In addition to our core group, we are often joined by various other musicians for whatever fits your need!

The 3rd Pre-Festival Event in support of the Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival 15-17 Sept 2023 will be held at the Beach Bar and feature the music of the Fraser Melvin Band.  Tickets $25 , book early as seating is limited.

Come walk or run 5k in memory of Dr. Sarah Adams, an important figure in our healing and business community. Dr. Sarah was taken from us last year after battling ALS.

Drop in and pick up the Fall Recreation Guide - Now available

Guitar Jammers (Acoustic) is a group for 55+ participants of various abilities. 

Participants should know how to play basic guitar chords and read music while playing in a group format.

Program is supported by Seniors Active Living Centre Volunteers who facilitate the program.

Participants are asked to Sign in each week.

New participants are welcome to attend and are required to complete a liability waiver on the first visit with the Volunteers, so weekly attendance can be track

Ukulele Meetup

Opportunity for 55+ beginner level players to practice easy and fun Ukulele Songs with others.

This is not a formal lesson format, but an opportunity to build on Ukulele basics and learn from others.

This friendly group of walkers meets outside the Active Living Centre building. 

Volunteers, facilitate a short warm-up before the group embarks on 30-60 minute walks.  

Group walks on the trails, Provincial Park and beaches surrounding the Seniors Active Living Centre.

The group meets after walking for coffee in the Seniors Active Living Centre.

Wednesday Afternoon at 1621 Mosley St is our weekly Social, Games and Chats afternoon.

Drop in use is facilitated by Volunteers who engage participants, in a variety of different chat topics.

Board games are available for particpants to enjoy each week or you can watch TV, enjoy a coffee

or check your email at one of our computer stations.

Hobby Lobby Arts, Crafts and Hobby Meet up

Meet with others who enjoy various crafting activities and hobbies. Bring your latest project and work on it while chatting with other

Hobby, craft and art enthusiasts . Basic supplies are available, and once each month a new project is scheduled to Learn something new!

Once a month the Seniors Active Living Centre Volunteers offer a Community Soup-er Lunch

Volunteers prepare homemade soups each month.
